AFTER YOUR TATTOO
The applied film should be removed at the earliest after one day and at the latest after five days. It is normal to find small amounts of blood and wound fluid under the film. Don't worry if it looks like something has leaked after a short time.
Once the film begins to peel off and your tattoo is no longer completely protected, you can gently remove it under lukewarm water. If you feel you cannot tolerate the film, you can remove it as well.
When patting dry, always use a fresh and clean towel or paper towel.
After removing the film, the tattoo should be regularly cared for with an appropriate cream. You can use wound and healing salves from the pharmacy or special tattoo care creams. Make sure to apply the cream in a thin layer to find a balance between skin that is too dry and the risk of softening. Repeat this process about 2-4 times daily.
If a crust forms, do not scratch it! It is better to continue caring for the tattoo regularly with cream until the crust falls off on its own.
The further healing process can take between 14 days and one month, depending on individual skin conditions.
DO'S and DON'TS
Your tattoo needs oxygen to heal properly. Wear loose-fitting and breathable clothing.
It is normal for the tattoo to itch occasionally during the healing phase. However, scratching should be avoided at all costs, as this can lead to scarring.
Avoid friction and irritation by avoiding tight clothing, rough fabrics, shaving, exfoliating, etc. (e.g. denim, scratchy sweaters and rough towels for drying).
Avoid swimming pools due to the chlorine content in the water, and skip sauna visits.
Physical activities can put excessive strain on the tattoo due to exertion, sweating and additional friction. Therefore, wait until the tattoo is completely healed.
Do not use perfumed creams on healing skin areas. Initially, clean the tattoo only with pH-neutral and gentle soap. Do not use self-tanning products.
If the tattoo was applied to the neck, head or armpit area, be careful not to accidentally spray deodorants, hairsprays or dry shampoos on it.
Avoid direct sunlight, whether natural sun or artificial light as used in tanning beds. After your tattoo is completely healed, it is advisable to protect it with sunscreen.
